Chhat Parva

Chhat Parva is a sacred festival mainly celebrated by people of the Mithila regions in Nepal. It is dedicated to the Sun god, Surya. Chhat Parva is celebrated in gratitude to the sun god for maintaining the life on Earth and to pray that Surya provides his blessings to human beings. Chhat is celebrated for four days from 2nd November, 2019.

The devotees in Chhat Parva worship by taking baths in holy water, fasting, worshiping the Sun in the banks of river and offering prasadh during sunrise and sunset.
